The Commission on World Anthropologies (CWA) is seeking proposals from sections for invited sessions that feature the participation of international scholars who might otherwise be unable to attend the 2010 AAA annual meetings.
The CWA will contribute up to $1500 to the winning section proposal to offset the costs of including an international speaker able to bring diverse perspectives relevant to the 2010 New Orleans AAA meetings theme. Proposals should include a statement detailing the invited speaker, the proposed session, and the section or sections¹ commitment to supplementary support (such as matching financial contributions, section co-sponsorship, translation assistance, and registration waivers). Proposals are due January 10, 2010 and will be reviewed by a joint committee of CWA and Section Assembly Executive Committee members.
