The Society for Linguistic Anthropology is growing its social media presence, and we invite you to connect with us across platforms. Our accounts are a space to share news, highlight member achievements, circulate professional opportunities, and make the work of linguistic anthropology more visible to a wider public.
You can find the SLA on Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Bluesky. We also maintain a Linktree, which offers a convenient single access point to our social media accounts and other important links.
Because SLA social media is still relatively new, we are continuing to develop and expand these channels. Follow, share, and submit content to help us build a stronger online presence for the field and for our members.
What We Share
SLA social media features a range of content relevant to our community, including:
- job and position announcements
- calls for submissions
- funding and fellowship opportunities
- publication announcements
- awards, honors, and professional milestones
- events, talks, and workshops
- other news of interest to linguistic anthropologists
Our goal is to maintain a consistent, high-quality feed that reflects the diversity of work being done across the field, from established scholars to early-career researchers.
Submit News for Social Media
We encourage members and colleagues to share items for possible promotion through the SLA Social Media Submission Form.
The form is designed to streamline the process of amplifying your professional milestones, research developments, and community opportunities across SLA’s social media platforms. When you submit through the form, it helps us ensure that your news is organized for timely and strategic circulation to our global network.
To help us share your news effectively, all submissions should include:
- a short headline
- a brief description of 2–4 sentences
- any relevant links
- a high-resolution image or video
For jobs, events, or awards, please provide an institutional logo, event flyer, or high-resolution campus image.
For publications or research, please provide a book cover, professional headshot, or another high-resolution image relevant to the work.
Please note that the SLA team reserves editorial discretion regarding image quality and formatting, and may contact you if a different file is needed to meet platform standards.
Help Us Grow
SLA social media is still young and growing, and community participation makes a real difference. Following our accounts, sharing posts, and submitting announcements all help increase the visibility of linguistic anthropology and strengthen connections across the field.
You can explore all of our social media accounts and related links through our Linktree.
